If you’re looking for tiny living in a more permanent setting, Kanga Room Systems offers the lovely 16-foot by 34-foot Cottage Cabin.

Kanga Cabins are designed to be placed in areas that do not require inspections by a local building authority. However, identical Kanga Dwelling models are available if you live in a city or town that does require inspections.

Both the Cabins and Dwellings are available as shell kits, shells with installation (in Texas only), and as move-in ready, turkey buildings (also in Texas only).

The Cottage Cabin shown here has a 16-foot by 6-foot porch with a cover — perfect for enjoying some relaxing time outside.

Once inside, you’ll find a large, open living and dining area that is approximately 210 square feet.

The living and dining area offers enough space for a large sofa, side chair, coffee table, and a large dining table with chairs. Even with all of this furniture, there is still a lot of space to move around comfortably.

(While the turnkey buildings do come completely finished on the inside including electrical, plumbing, and fixtures, they do not come with furniture or appliances. The images shown here simply demonstrate how much furniture can fit inside the home.)

Directly in front of the living and dining space is the kitchen to the right and the bathroom to the left. The master bedroom is behind the kitchen and bathroom, and can be accessed through either room.

Above the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom is a large loft.

Throughout the home there are many windows which bring in a lot of natural light.

The galley kitchen offers ample space to cook your favorite meals. It has plenty of cabinets and drawers for storage, beautiful maple butcher block countertops, and a large sink and faucet. While appliances are not included with the turnkey models, they are designed to hold a full-size refrigerator, stove, and microwave.

The master bedroom is on the main level and is large enough to hold a queen size bed, a dresser, side tables or night stands, a side chair, and a recliner.

The bathroom is spacious and has a standard flushing toilet, vanity, faucet, mirror, and shower. A shower/tub combo is also an option.

Since the bathroom is outside of the master bedroom, it is accessible by guests while still allowing you to maintain your privacy.

An optional loft area provides space for a second bedroom, playroom, office, or storage room.

Below is the floor plan for this Cottage Cabin.
